CHINA MED (International Medical Instruments and Equipment Exhibition) jointly organized by the Medical Department of the General Logistics Department, Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), China World Trade Center Co., Ltd., China Hui Tong (Group) Corporation, and Messe Düsseldorf China Ltd., has been 19 successive fruitful events. With the size and the number of exhibitors increasing on an annual basis, the most recent events have each registered more than US$30 million of turnover. Every year the event receives tens of thousands of professionals from trade companies, research institutions, governmental organizations, and hospital procurement and administration teams interested in the medical equipment industry. Highly influential in the medical circles home and abroad, China Med has become one of the major international medical equipment exhibition events in China.

The visitors featured a high quality and wide coverage which are the two biggest differences from other shows with similar theme: according to the statistics, around 30% visitors of this exhibition were from hospitals, science & research institutes or medical institutions, around 60% were professional wholesalers, retailers, agents or traders of the medical industry, not like most of other local shows which recorded a high figure of visitors while professionalism of the visitors are relatively low. During the 4 day show of CHINA MED, visitors were not only from Beijing, but also from more than 28 provinces & cities including Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang, Shanghai, Guangdong, Guangxi, Shenzheng, Hongkong SAR and Taiwan etc., overseas visitors were from around 20 countries including Korea, Japan, USA, Germany, Australia, Canada, Sweden, Turkey, Switzerland, UK, Singapore, Thailand, Denmark, Bulgaria, Iran, Malaysia, South Africa, Brazil, UAE etc.. At the same time, organizers arranged military onsite bidding and purchasing during the show, which was another obvious advantage over other similar shows.

Other than setting up a platform for a better communication for both visitors and exhibitors, the exhibition also aimed to introduce and promote the knowledge of the most developed medical instruments and applicable technology locally and internationally with its onsite technical seminars, organizers and exhibitors invited experts from famous hospitals and institutes to give out speeches on various topics.

China Med 2007 was held from April 22 to 24, 2007, at China International Exhibition Center, Beijing, with an exhibition area of 29,280 square meters. In addition to the exhibition of large-size traditional equipment, this event debuted a new Pavilion for Rehabilitation & Physiotherapeutic Equipment with 4160 square meters, together with Medical Consumables Pavilion (2075 square meters) and Orthopedics Pavilion (2075 square meters). The 3-day event attracted 559 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions, 26.3 of which were from overseas and 73.7% from China mainland, and a total of 23,250 professional visitors from 81 countries and regions, 9% of which came from overseas.
